Launch of Wikipad gaming tablet delayed to accommodate 'minor refinement'

Pre-orders of the new Wikipad went unfulfilled this week, when the release of this Android gaming tablet was delayed at the eleventh hour.

Scheduled to arrive in GameStop stores on October 31st, the 10.1-inch game-centric slate was held back by the Wikipad team for some last-minute tweaks.

Wikipad has this to say regarding the delay: "The Wikipad team has been relentlessly working with our manufacturers and partners to perfect the Wikipad bundle to ensure our first product is the best tablet and entertainment experience at launch."

"There is a last-minute opportunity to enhance the Wikipad bundle as well as a minor refinement needed to ensure our first customers are completely satisfied with the Wikipad."

The Wikipad team also promised that anyone who pre-ordered the Jelly Bean-powered tablet will receive "the refined and upgraded bundles as well as a special bonus gift with the pre-order".

Though a revised release schedule was not confirmed, the Wikipad crew promises it will announce a new launch date "soon".
