Pre-orders for limited Pikachu Yellow 3DS XL 'sells out' on first available day in Japan

Earlier in August, the Pokemon Company announced it would make a limited edition 'Pikachu Yellow' version of the 3DS XL available for pre-order from August 25th.

The devices themselves would be available on 15 September.

Unsurprisingly, on the first day of the pre-order period, Japanese Pokemon fans took to the stores in force and managed to deplete the stocks of the yellow 3DS XL at the Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka Pokemon Centers.

Some fans reportedly queued up and waited for over four hours to secure their rights to pre-order the brazenly coloured 3DS XL.

It's now unclear whether the Pokemon Company will allow for additional pre-orders of the Pikachu Yellow 3DS XL or not, but the demand for more is certainly there.
