Kid Icarus: Uprising for 3DS will include support for Circle Pad Pro add-on to benefit left-handed gamers
Not Left 4 Dead
In an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine, Kid Icarus: Uprising director Masahiro Sakurai confirmed that Project Sora's long-awaited 3DS title will be the first Nintendo-published game to support the Circle Pad Pro add-on.
Sakurai explained that left-handed gamers would struggle with Kid Icarus: Uprising's combination of Circle Pad and stylus controls without it.
With the Circle Pad Pro attached to their 3DS, however, lefty players will be able to manoeuvre cherubic hero Pit around the landscape in a more comfortable and natural manner.
No man left behindBut, will Kid Icarus: Uprising make use of any of the Circle Pad Pro's functions? Maybe those extra shoulder buttons?
Apparently not.
Sakurai pointed out that the Project Sora team wasn't made aware of Nintendo's controversial Circle Pad attachment until it was revealed to the public last September.
"I didn't know the specs of the Circle Pad Pro, or what it looked like, until Monster Hunter 3G was announced, so we weren't able to do anything big with it in the time we had. Even if we had known about it from the start, I don't know whether we would have used both Circle Pads in that way."
Kid Icarus: Uprising for the 3DS launches in Europe and the US in March.
