Proving many platforms make light work of generating lots of downloads - especially with free games - German developer HandyGames has announced its Guns'n'Glory tower defence game has been downloaded over two million times.

Available on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad (priced £1.79), and the Android Market (£2.53) in paid and free versions, and in free and ad-supported versions on the Nokia Ovi store, downloads of the game were recently boosted by the release of its first mission pack.

Keep working the pump

The company is also planning a second update in early 2011.

"Our development team is working hard to keep the content supply train rolling, because millions of bandits only want one thing: more gold," said Markus Kassulke, CEO of HandyGames.

"We wish to thank our gamers and our fans on Facebook for all the support and the many suggestions and feature requests for the upcoming Oregon update."
