PlayStation Phone ‘still real’, codenamed Zeus?

Rumours around Sony’s PlayStation Phone have just got more interesting.

Tech site Engadget, which broke the PlayStation Phone story yesterday, has today defended the validity of its sources after NowGamer reported that a Sony representative had called the leaked images "definitely fake".

Sony swiftly revised its official line, insisting instead that it doesn't comment on rumour or speculation.

Engadget is sticking to its guns. The site claims its sources are ‘closely connected to the project’, and that the pictured PlayStation Phone is not only real, but codenamed 'project Zeus' and running Android 2.X.

These details have since been confirmed by one of VG247’s sources, who also let it slip that the device is to run on PSP technology.

This seems a little strange, with the (as yet unconfirmed) PSP 2 is on the horizon.

More news as soon as it breaks.
