Nintendo’s systems often get accused of not having enough third-party titles available, with software libraries on the DS and Wii arguably over reliant on first- and second-party developers to produce the majority of big title releases.

It seems the company wants to take a different approach with the 3DS, though, and has revealed a list of companies and titles from third-party developers that will be made available for the new portable 3D console at its E3 presentation.

These include some fairly big hitting publishers and developers from both the western and eastern markets.

From the west there’s EA’s Madden and FIFA, Ubi is bringing a new instalment of Assassin’s Creed, THQ reignites the Saint’s Row franchise, and Activision joins the party with DJ Hero.

The eastern representation sounds stronger than its western counterpart, with Konami’s Metal Gear Solid series causing the biggest cheer among the assembled crowd at Nintendo’s E3 conference.

It wasn’t the only established series to be receiving a 3D outing, however. Resident Evil, Ridge Racer, Professor Layton, and Kingdom Hearts will all be making an appearance on the new portable.
