iPhone OS 4.0 beta includes AT&T tethering
Also groups all the utility apps together
The fourth iteration of the iPhone OS 4.0 beta has been released, and among the new features, tethering is the most interesting addition.
AT&T did not support tethering in the iPhone OS 3.0 due to the wireless traffic, but it seems like its customers will finally be able to use the feature in OS 4.0.
Indeed, the new version of the beta features options to set up Internet tethering with AT&T via phone or web.
Of course, inclusion with the 4.0 beta doesn't strictly mean it will feature in the final version, but it would suggest tethering for AT&T customers is very likely.
Gizmodo has been checking out all the other latest features of beta 4, and there's one other interesting addition to the iPhone OS on display.
Many of the standard iPhone apps - like the clock, calculator, compass, and voice memos - no longer take up a separate block each, instead all sitting comfortable together in a Utilities slot.
Touching Utilities expands them out, allowing you to select which one you're after. Here's hoping that one sticks in the final product.
