iPhone 3G will not receive multitasking with iPhone OS 4.0
iPhone 3G and touch 2G will get 'many things', but no multitasking
The upcoming iPhone OS 4.0 update will allow the iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3G to multitask.
However, iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G owners will not gain this ability.
According to Steve Jobs, these older platforms will receive "many things", but multitasking will not be one of them.
A number of developers have voiced their opinions regarding the multitasking via Twitter.
Hayden Scott-Baron, creator of Tumbledrop, says, "I'm hugely relieved that there is no multitasking in older devices."
And Noel Llopis, developer of iPhone game Flower Garden, hopes, "it will also move people to OGL2.0 devices sooner."
He added, "Even current gen ones are going run out of battery in just a few hours probably."
