Garfield bounces onto iPhone in Pooky Quest

Doing his Doodle Jump impression

Garfield bounces onto iPhone in Pooky Quest

Garfield - the grumpy lasagna-loving - cat seems to be one of those characters who is continually popping in kid-centric games.

He's been on iPhone and iPod touch before of course, but his latest release links into the new 3D animated Garfield Cartoon Network TV show, which started airing last year.

Called Garfield Pooky Quest, it's a Doodle Jump-style game in which you have to tilt and jump Garfield up, up, up and away using ledges and springs to save Pooky, the teddy bear.

You collect sweets and lasagna power ups along the way too, of course.

And as is proper and correct for these tie-ins, Garfield's voice is provided by the official TV series voice-over artist.

Also noteworthy is that this is first game from new developer Cobra Fridge. It's a start up from folks who used to work at Nokia's N-Gage division, who have since relocated to Los Angeles.

You can see how the game plays in this video.
