Sony Ericsson unveils expanded Xperia X10 range
Mini and Mini Pro to join the bog-standard X10 this year
The Sony Ericsson Xperia isn’t even in shops yet, but that hasn’t stopped the company from announcing two more additions to the range in the shape of the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro.
Like the original X10, these new handsets run Google’s Android OS, although the unique selling point is undoubtedly SE’s exclusive UXE interface, which looks to be included in the vast majority of the firm’s new phones.
The X10 Mini is a credit-card sized Android device which showcases SE’s 'hot corners' concept, which apparently makes it easy to use with just one hand. Oo-er.
The X10 Mini Pro is a kind of halfway house between the Mini and the vanilla X10: it boasts the small dimensions of the former but also rocks a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Launching three phones in the same range simultaneously is certainly a bold move for SE but the notion of a credit-card sized Android blower really has definitely grabbed our attention.
The only downside is that we’re not all that excited about the original X10 now.
