Wikipedia gets join the links iPhone game, PediaPedia
Network of knowledge
Here's a great idea for knowledge hounds. PediaPedia turns the online data resource into a game by providing you with a start and end point and then asks you to make the connection using the shortest number of links.
Of course, it's an unofficial app - from ZGDev Software - and it does require you to be connected to the internet, so not ideal for iPod touch owners.
The structure is fairly well set up however.
Beginners can get to grips with the game with the Newbie option which has start and destination pages in the same category.
To limit randomness, there are six categories in total: Animals, Cars, Famous People, Greek Mythology, Places, and Technology.
The intermediate option has the start and destination pages from different categories, while the Pro option is completely random, although these links are filtered for inappropriate content.
There's also a Mash Dash mode, which gives you 100 seconds to make the connection, with your score based off the amount of time taken to get to the destination page.
PediaPedia supports the OpenFeint social network, including achievements, global leaderboards and friend challenges.
PediaPedia is out now, price 99c, €0.79 or 59p. Hit the Buy It! button to go direct to the App Store.
