Rumours of Steve Jobs’s death greatly exaggerated

Okay, so no one’s actually published Steve Jobs’s obituary yet, but his noticeable absence at this week's MacWorld Expo show has caused rumours of a possible reappearance of his pancreatic cancer to circulate.

As it is, Steve’s told the internet that his illness has been diagnosed as a hormone imbalance.

“I will be the first one to step up and tell our Board of Directors if I can no longer continue to fulfil my duties as Apple's CEO," says Jobs.

"I hope the Apple community will support me in my recovery and know that I will always put what is best for Apple first."

Despite his wellness, Jobs’s non-attendance at the MacWorld Expo managed to cause some mild fluttering in the hearts of Apple stockholders, though the lack of any expected product unveilings probably makes this a good one for him to miss.

Apple’s senior veep of worldwide product marketing, Philip Schiller, will be stepping in to give the all important key note speech.

Let’s try to avoid any ‘how do you make a hormone’ jokes, shall we? They might be funny, but they probably won’t help with Steve’s recovery.

All the best, Mr Jobs sir!

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
