Sony: 'no' to PSP2, 'yes' to no UMD, okay?

This is getting to be outright ridiculous. Since 17th November, we’ve written about three widespread rumours concerning the mythical PSP2.

First, PSP2 parts were being made in England somewhere, then Sony denied it, then a producer told a journalist that PSP2 games were in development, and now - guess what - Sony is denying it.

Speaking with Siliconera, Sony Director of Hardware Marketing John Koller has said definitively that all rumours concerning the PSP2 are unfounded.

Unfounded? But not untrue. Am I right, Sony? Are you saying that our evidence is flawed but the subject of the conjecture may still be-

-“No plans for a PSP2 are underway.”

Oh.

In other news, Koller confirms what every nerd with his wits about him suspects: Sony is pushing developers away from UMD.
