Party Night Casanova

Comb your moustache. Slap on some Brut. And get some Michael Bolton on the stereo to put you in the mood for a night of hot lovin'.

What's that? Our attitudes towards dating are stuck in the 1980s? Okay, so you have to be a bit more up-to-date if you want to make an impression on today's dating scene. What you need is a mobile game that'll show you the way into ladies' hearts (not to mention their underwear). And happily, Party Night Casanova is exactly that game.

See, you play an arch-seducer whose job is to get to know a succession of glamorous Hollywood beauties (if you're female, don't worry – there's a version of the game called Party Night Diva that reverses the roles). Don't think you're having it easy either: you have to work hard to earn the affections of these hard-to-please bombshells.

How? Well, by proving your skills at three mobile mini-games, which, we have to admit, hasn't ever worked for us when chatting someone up down the local Yates' Wine Bar. Nevertheless, mini-games it is, and thankfully they're all slick and fun to play.

The first is a Mastermind-style guessing game, where you have to choose the best chat-up subjects for your targeted lady by a process of trial and error.

The second is a neat one-thumb game to create the perfect cocktail, spinning a wheel to put the right ingredients in while avoiding obstacles. It's challenging enough to provide plenty of fun in its own right.

Finally, there's a rhythm-action music game. Here you have to time your button presses according to on-screen signals to bust some spectacular moves on the dancefloor. Again, it's good fun. And that's the key to Party Night Casanova – while none of the mini-games would be worth a fiver alone, they're all well-designed and together they make a satisfying whole.

The graphics have plenty of character too, and overall it's all very well put together.

We can't promise it'll improve your chances with real-world women, but if you're looking to boost your confidence with some virtual romance, Party Night Casanova is quite the catch.
