Hudson Soft giving away free iPhone games
To celebrate the Tokyo Game Show, apparently
Hudson Soft has dropped the price of three of its iPhone games to free, as part of a promotion for the Tokyo Game Show.
Aqua Forest, Catch The Egg and NeoSameGame are all being given away on the App Store, albeit only until October 12th.
It's quite a canny move, though. Hudson isn't the first publisher to realise that making your game free for a limited period gives it a good chance of zooming up the Free App chart on the App Store.
Then, when the price is put up again, the game will benefit from its increased prominence, and potentially rise up the Paid Apps chart too.
Such freebies are likely to become a more common tactic in the App Store in the coming months, as publishers scrap for attention in the increasingly crowded virtual shelves.
