Anarchy 2087 in the UK
And the Netherlands, Germany, Scandinavia, France…
Everywhere's flooded and people are fighting for survival. No, not Wiltshire during this summer. Well, apart from the odd feisty farmer, obviously.
We're talking Europe in the year 2087, according to the plot of HandyGames' new real-time strategy title, Anarchy 2087. Whole swathes of Europe are underwater, and everyone's battling it out to decide who gets to occupy the high ground (i.e. not Norfolk).
Anyway, it'll be one of the few RTS games on mobile, enabling you to pick a side and scrap for survival. You should expect 14 types of units to control, 15 buildings to build, and up to ten missions to play through.
The biggest challenge for this genre is mapping traditional mouse 'n' keyboard controls onto a mobile keypad. Pleasingly, HandyGames is promising mini-map based navigation and hotkeys for saving groups of units or buildings, which indicates the publisher is clearly attacking the problem.
Anarchy 2087 goes on sale this week, so watch out for it.
