THQ brings first ever cheerleading game to DS
2-4-6-8 - DS cheerleading could be G-R-E-A-T
Just when you thought publishers were starting to run out of 'girly' activities to make games out of – namely cooking, babies and cute animals – THQ has gone and announced a blinder of a girl game.
All Star Cheer Squad features the sport (if it is a sport, we're not really sure) of cheerleading, giving you control of a cheerleading squad trying to out-screech and out-bounce its rivals.
The game's due for release on DS and Wii, where it's going to be a fairly interactive experience using the controllers as virtual pom-poms. Needless to say, the DS game will be a less physically demanding experience, although exact details of how it's all going to work are yet to be confirmed. THQ has simply said it takes place at a cheerleading camp and players play through a unique storyline and compete against rival camps.
It's currently in development with Gorilla Games, who has a bit of a music game background with Hannah Montana: Music Jam. Expect us to chant more details at you nearer to the game's autumn release.
