Retro-styled platformer 1-bit Ninja smoke bombing iPhone on Thursday

Indie developer Ben Hopkins, alias Kode80, will be releasing 1-bit Ninja on Thursday for iPhone. And as the title may suggest, it's a platformer which harks back to those simple Game & Watch days of yesteryear.

The game revolves around a spritely shaolin, who traverses platforms in monochromatic Super Mario Land-style across four worlds and 20 levels.

What makes this games jump out from the crowd, though, is the ability to change the 2D perspective into a 3D one by swiping the top centre of the screen.

Doing so will shift the camera around and reveal alternative routes to take and platforms to reach.

1-bit Ninja will be out this Thursday on iPhone, but until then, you can view the images in the gallery to the right or absorb the fantastic retro tunes of the trailer below.
